Happy Tweets from Room 351
Six girls, all of them international students at the University of Tartu this autumn semester, have been tweeting from a collective account
@Raatuse349351. Here are some of their tweets, highlighting different sides of international student life enjoyed in Tartu by Elīna from Latvia, Daine from Lithuania, Mariam and Tamo from Georgia, Elena from Italy and Ana from Hungary.
So the autumn semester has begun. We wached the opening ceremony online. Not that we understood a thing, but the choir was great, for sure.
Smells good over here. Really good! Georgian girls are practicing to cook and the others are making plans how to use it. One of us overslept the very first lecture in this semester. Guess, who?
So the antisocialisation has started. We're communicating through facebook chat while being in neighbouring rooms.
This is one lazy day. Everyone's just "chilling" (doing exactly nothing) and waiting for the Welcome party in the evening.
Just found out that we don't have similar taste on music. Such a bad thing... :/
Yesterday we had a great twister party here at dorms. We're planning to repeat that tonight. Anyone interested? 🙂
We got our 6th mate yesterday. And she's actually not from Ukraine as we expected, but from Hungary. Welcome, Ana!
Sooo sorry for being that silent. You won't believe it if we'd say - why we didn't tweet. Ok - will tell you - we were studying. No, srsly!
Yesterday was grrrreat! Our Daine (LT) won a prize in "Beer Bingo"!
Researcher's night was excellent and now we're inspired to actually research it in details - how it is to be an exchange students in TU? :p
Fire alarm in the morning is far more better in waking us up than our alarms in mobile phones.
Today it will be our latvian's (Elina) first debating session in english. Previously she went to the estonian one. :p Should be funny 😀
Daine(lt) is out now. With locals. Let's see at what time do estonians bring good girls back home...? :p
Elena (it) did her presentation in russian today. So scared, so terrefied, but, she did it. We're proud. You should be proud of her as well.
We have this idea to make "Free Hugs" campaign in Tartu, if only someone told us how "free hugs" is in estonian? http://t.co/uYm5XT8h
This will be the night when Daine will leave us for almost a week. Who'll turn of the alarm clock in the morning for 7-8 times now? 🙁
Why there isn't any number on how many students are overtraining their brain in lectures right now? http://t.co/B5LUQapv
It's so good that Daine is not here. If she'd see what Elina has done to their room, she'd run for help.
There are lot of definitions what a Heaven is. We'd say it's fast-food place "Metro" near to Raatuse 22.
Some internationals went to Russia today, we'll go to movie about Moscow that does not believe in tears. :p Where's the difference?
We're not going to tell you what we did today, but if you'd knew that, you'd probably be quite interested in becoming a good friend with us.
And finally, here they come in all their awesomeness:
